[Tennis History]: “Game of the Palm”

“Jeu de paume” as they say in French is the origin of tennis. Traced back as early as the 12th – 13th century still played.

  • ‘Real Tennis’ – U.K.
  • ‘Court Tennis’ – United States
  • ‘Royal Tennis’ – Australia

Early Rackets:

The earliest version played by hand, glove, paddle, and then rackets. Jeu de plume was a 1908 Summer Olympics medal event.
